Womancare Birth & Breastfeeding offers a complete home birth practice in the Flagstaff, Arizona region, including prenatal care, labor and delivery, and full-service postpartum and newborn care. We specialize in serving low risk, healthy mothers expecting a low risk, healthy baby.
The focus of our home birth services relies on thorough care so we can build a personal relationship, answer any of your questions, and allows for informed consent and shared decision making, so you can feel fully confident in planning the birth YOU want. We do offer water birth, vaginal birth after caesarean (VBAC), complete or frank breech birth, and pride ourselves in a low transfer rate and less medical interventions for our mothers and babies.

How the process works
Step 1 - The Consult & Initial Visit
This 1 hour complimentary consult (video or in person) allows us to go over the process and answer any questions you may have about your home birth experience. Once you decide to move forward, we'll have your initial prenatal visit, which takes about 2.5 hours and allows us to establish your individualized prenatal care. ** To schedule either of these visits, please contact us at your preferred method.
Step 2: The Prenatal Care
​During your pregnancy, we'll meet once a month until about 28 weeks. From 28 weeks until 36 weeks, we'll meet every two weeks. After 36 weeks, we'll meet weekly until your delivery. All prenatal visits will take place in-office minus our home visit which takes places around 34-36 weeks. We offer intermittent telemedicine visits during your last month of pregnancy unless there is a particular concern where you would need to be seen in person.
Step 3: Labor, Delivery, & Postpartum Care
​The time you've been waiting for! We'll be there to attend labor and delivery in your home. Once baby is here, we will stay with you and baby between 3-6 hours. I will also return to your home on day 1 and day 3 to follow up and make sure you and baby are doing well. Moving forward, we will have a 1-week office visit, optional 2 and 4 week office visits, and our final 6 week office visit.
